What? That's right. We're gonna teach you how to make your very own sailor hat from scratch. Very maritime. Very chic. Very "I mysteriously inherited a boat and this very colorful hat." You'll get to choose from three different hat sizes and a range of materials to make a sailor hat that's completely your own.

In this hands-on workshop, Kiki & Bouba's very own Zolzaya will walk you through the process of constructing a classic sailor hat from raw fabrics in solid and patterned colors (your choice!) to a finished wearable piece. You'll learn how to cut your pattern, understand seam allowances, sew curved pieces together, and assemble the hat step by step using a sewing machine. Finish it off with a ribbon at the back, complete with rivet details if you're feeling fancy.

The sailor hat has sailed through fashion history for over a century, worn by everyone from naval crews to runway models to artists who love an oddly specific accessory. I myself have been a lover of hats for as long as I can remember and this was one of the first hats I learned how to make and.. Now it's your turn!

The session will open with a walkthrough of the construction process. We'll cover how to read and cut your pattern, how seam allowances work (and why they matter), and how each piece comes together to create the final shape. Whether you've never touched a sewing machine before or you're looking to sharpen your skills, we'll guide you through every step.

Once your hat is assembled, we'll move into customization. Choose whether you'd like to add a ribbon detail secured with rivets at the back, or keep your sailor hat clean and classic. The Kiki & Bouba team will be around the whole time to answer questions, troubleshoot tricky moments, or simply lend an extra set of hands.

By the end of the session, you'll leave wearing a finished sailor hat that you made entirely yourself and with the skills to keep making more long after the workshop is over.
