We know you have polaroids crammed in your wallet or pinned to your wall. They deserve better. Come and build a custom photo frame from real stained glass tiles and solder.

In this hands-on workshop, you'll learn the fundamentals of stained glass foiling and soldering. Then you’ll use those skills to build a one-of-a-kind geometric photo frame for your photo booth strips. We'll cover the basics, watch a live demo, and then you'll have supervised studio time to design, arrange, and solder your own frame from start to finish. Every person leaves with a finished frame, ready to display.

You'll be working with pre-cut glass tiles in a curated color palette, arranging them into a geometric border design around a standard mini, square or wide polaroid film sheet. The beauty is that no two frames come out the same. Your choices of color, pattern, and arrangement make it entirely your own. If a piece needs trimming or adjusting, your instructor will help you get it there.

The result is a fully soldered stained glass photo frame, sturdy enough to stand or hang and personal enough to keep or gift.

Materials Provided:

  • Pre-cut stained glass tiles in a curated color selection

  • Solder and all soldering tools

  • Safety equipment

  • Frame backing and hanging hardware

  • Optional copper or black patina

  • Finishing supplies

What You'll Walk Away With:

  • A finished stained glass photo frame, ready to display or gift

  • Foundational knowledge of stained glass cutting and lead-free soldering

What to Bring: Wear clothes you don't mind getting a little messy because we're working with glass and solder. Close-toed shoes are strongly recommended. No prior experience with glass or metalwork is necessary. If you have a specific photo in mind for your frame, bring a printout in the size you'd like to display.

About Kiki and Bouba Craft Lab: Kiki and Bouba is an experimental craft lab run out of our private studio in East Williamsburg. Artists ourselves, we spend our days tinkering so we can bring you exciting, new crafts you won't find anywhere else. Classes are kept intentionally very small so that you'll have your instructor's attention throughout. Questions are welcome at every step.
What to Expect at Our Workshops: This is not a paint-and-sip. We specialize in 2–4 hour workshops that teach you the fundamentals of skills that have taken us years to hone. Classes are skill-intensive and hands-on, with a small seat capacity so everyone gets the attention they need. Come ready to embrace the learning curve. The skills and satisfaction you walk away with are always worth it.
Refund Policy: Kiki & Bouba Craft Lab is a small, artist-run studio led by just the two of us, Adrianna and Zolzaya. Every ticket directly supports the materials, space, fees, and care that go into each workshop. Because of this, all ticket purchases are final and non-refundable, so we encourage you to book thoughtfully. If you’re unable to attend, you’re welcome to pass your spot along to a friend. Just email us at kikiandboubacraftlab@gmail.com so we can update the registration.
If you’d prefer to switch into another workshop of the same price, we’re happy to help with that as long as you reach out at least 72 hours before your scheduled class.
